Week#4 - Revising Opinion Essays, Citation, and Chuseok Descriptions Ahoy!



In Class
Monday: In groups of three or four, use the Essay Revision Checklist to help improve each other's essay.

Wednesday:  In groups, continue revising your opinion essays.  Please post any challenges you aren't sure how to fix on the 'Sentence Challenges - Sept. 23' document.
Post your thesis statement to the Class Band.

Assignment: Capturing a Chuseok moment.  At some time during your long weekend, notice a moment that is full of things to describe.  Take a few photos and/or write down at least ten words (not sentences) that describe the what you see, hear, smell, taste, and/or feel (physically and emotionall).

Phrasal Verbs
Phrasal verbs can be transitive or intransitive.
Transitive phrasal verbs have a direct object. Intransitive phrasal verbs have no direct object.
Transitive: You need to fill out this form to register for the course.
Intransitive:  woke up at 10:30 AM.
Transitive phrasal verbs can be separable or inseparable.
Separable: 
Please turn off the TV.   Please turn the TV off.
Inseparable:   
I’ll look after your dog while you’re on vacation.                 
         I’ll
 look your dog after while you’re on vacation – INCORRECT
